Joomookie is my dream job! I'm able to work from home doing what I love - creating a high quality product, unlike anything you'll find anywhere else. I love the creative challenge of working with my customers to create unique designs inspired by their imaginations.
My home sewing studio is located on a small island on the Pacific Northwest of Canada. The woodland images of deer, mountains, and trees found on my patchwork blankets are inspired by the view out my window! The images of whales and waves by hours playing on the ocean and exploring the beaches nearby.
I have always loved babies and loved making things! Running a home based craft business, not only allowed me to support my children as a single mom, it also allowed me to be home with them while I did so. My first home based business, Eastvan Babes, was making handmade baby wraps and carriers. My babies were born at home, and homeschooled for many years - I really am a home body. My two baby boys are now full grown- but babies are still very much a part of my life. I am committed, through my work as prenatal teacher for The Childbearing Society ( a wonderful non-profit) and as an Evidence Based Birth® instructor to help make birth a positive and empowering experience for woman and babies.
Over 4500 babies and children have been wrapped up cosy in a Joomookie minky blanket, made just for them, so far. I'm very excited to now expand my business to include making tweens, teens, and adults of all ages, cosy as well!
